Trading in your current vehicle is the fastest way to get into something new. You avoid the hassle of selling privately — no strangers at your door, no test drives with people you don't know, no back-and-forth negotiations on Kijiji.

At Demo Auto Group, we base our trade-in values on current Canadian Black Book and market data — not gut feeling. We show you how we arrived at the number so you know it's fair. If you have a better offer from somewhere else, bring it in — we'll do our best to match or beat it.

You can trade in your vehicle even if you still owe money on it. If you have positive equity (your vehicle is worth more than you owe), we apply the difference to your new purchase. If you're upside down (owe more than it's worth), we can often roll the balance into your new financing — we'll be upfront about what that looks like.

The process is simple: tell us about your vehicle (year, make, model, mileage, condition), we give you a value, and if you like the number, we apply it as your down payment. The whole thing takes about 15 minutes.

How do you determine my trade-in value?+
We use Canadian Black Book data combined with current market conditions for your specific make, model, year, and mileage. We also factor in vehicle condition, service history, and local demand. You'll see exactly how we arrived at the number.
Can I trade in my car if I still owe money on it in Ontario?+
Yes. We handle the payoff with your current lender. If you have equity (vehicle worth more than the loan balance), we apply it to your next purchase. If you're upside down, we can often roll the balance into new financing — we'll explain the full picture.
Do I need to fix anything before trading in?+
Not necessarily. We buy vehicles in all conditions. However, addressing small cosmetic issues (detail, minor dents) can sometimes increase your trade value by more than the repair cost. We'll advise you honestly on whether it's worth fixing anything.
Can I get a trade-in value without committing to buy?+
Absolutely. We'll appraise your vehicle with no obligation. Many people use our appraisal as a benchmark even if they decide to sell privately. No pressure either way.
How long is a trade-in offer valid?+
Typically 7-10 days, since market values can shift. If you're close to deciding, we'll hold the value for you. If conditions change significantly, we'll reassess and explain why.
Is trading in better than selling privately?+
Trading in is faster and easier — you avoid listing, showing, and negotiating. Private sale usually gets you more money but takes more time and effort. We'll honestly tell you the difference so you can decide which matters more to you.
Will trading in affect my financing options for the next vehicle?+
It can help. Positive equity from your trade goes straight in as your down payment — lowering the amount you need to finance and often improving approval terms. Even modest equity makes a meaningful difference.
What documents do I need to trade in my vehicle?+
Your vehicle's ownership/registration, valid driver's license, recent loan or lease statement (if there's a balance owing), service records if available, and both sets of keys. We tell you exactly what to bring before you come in.
